Court Attendance

Copy of letter No. 578/Eii dt. 20.2.69 from Chief Engineer, Haryana PWD B&R Branch Chandigarh to the Superintending Engineer, Hissar Circle, Hissar.

Subject                :        Court Attendance

Reference   :        Your letter No. 1528- R dt. 23.5.68

It has come to the notice of this office that at present Divisional Accountants generally remain away from their head quarters for court attendance in connection with some suit cases filed by the contractors. In this way the work of the Divisional Office suffer badly and adds to the accumulations of accounts arrears. In view of this, it appears in the fitness of things and in the interest of department/ Government, that instead of the Divisional Accountant the S.D.E.‘s  in whose jurisdiction, the work to which the suit relates, lies should attend the court. The Executive Engineer, concerned would take keen interest and watch the suit cases themselves. The Executive Engineers should be made personally responsible to guide their S.D.E.’s in consultation with their accountants for each case and watch the developments of all court cases falling in their jurisdiction. It has, therefore, been decided after careful consideration that necessary instruction to this effect that the Divisional Accountant should not, in future, be decided for court attendance duty, be issued to the all Executive Engineers under your control for their guidance and compliance.

Endst. No. 2822-26/R dt. 3.3.69 from S.E. Hissar
Copy forwarded to the Executive Engineers Hissar/ Dadri & others for information and necessary action.

The instruction contained in the memo under ref. may please be followed strictly.
